Program
Blood Beats Program
Blood Beats is a program which delivers music lessons, song creation, recording and production skills to indigenous youth, children and adults in Burringurrah Remote Community, Gascoyne Junction and Carnarvon.
These include open music workshops, mentorships in song production/recording and sound engineering. Gascoyne First Nations are talent scouted, singled out, invited to collaborate with national and international musicians. New original songs are written and recorded. All Blood Beats participants are invited to perform live on stage with touring artists or solo at any, or all Gascoyne Travelling Arts Festival Events. Continuity is key: Many past project participants are now adults, who deserve creative outlets, and opportunities to develop these talents into career pathways. This project intends to build a foundation for local aboriginal producers to deliver local projects and be supported by, and collaborate with nationally celebrated industry professionals, and in turn, become celebrated industry professionals themselves!
